Medley of musicians take the stage at Strawberry Festival

Musical acts from Vashon and Seattle will perform from the Main stage, located at Vashon Village.

The Vashon-Maury Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the Strawberry Festival Main stage, along with the Strawberry Festival Beverage Garden.

Musical acts from Vashon and Seattle will perform from the Main stage, located at Vashon Village. All ages are welcome to dance it out on the Main Stage dance floor, while the Beverage Garden (stocked with Vashon beer, wine and cider) is designated for guests 21 years of age and older.

Festivities at the Main stage begin at 4 p.m. Friday, July 15 and will continue until 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 17.

This year’s scheduled lineup at the Main stage will include:

Friday, July 15

Loose Change, 4 – 5 p.m.

A longtime Vashon favorite – this band aims to entertain with non-stop danceable tunes including R&B, swing, and the occasional disco hit.

Lady C & The Lowdown, 6 – 7 p.m.

A Seattle-based funk and soul band playing ’60s and ’70s inspired soul and funk dance music.

Djeliyah Band, 8 – 9 p.m.

A Seattle-based band bringing a fusion of traditional Griot music, Afro beat and modern Guinea music to its audiences.

Billy Joe & The Dusty 45’s, 10 – 11:30 p.m.

Known for their signature style, Billy Joe & The Dusty 45’s have been a powerful player in the Americana genre for more than two decades.

Saturday, July 16

Tim Couldn’t Make It, 12 – 1 p.m.

Enjoy cover tunes performed by Chuck Keller on bass, Wesley Peterson on drums and vocals, Rick Dahms on guitar and vocals, and Doug Pine on guitar and vocals.

One More Mile, 2 – 3 p.m.

A Vashon blues group comprised of Jason Lollar, Mike Nichols, Tony Mann, Chuck Keller and Wesley Peterson.

The Pazific, 4– 5 p.m.

Let loose when The Pazific performs – an eight-piece band known for its tropical movement music with a Latin psychedelic twist.

Wild Rumours, 6 – 7 p.m.

Comprised of a line-up of veteran Seattle-area musicians, Wild Rumours covers the music of Fleetwood Mac, focusing on the classic albums of the band’s 1970s heyday.

The Cumbieros, 8 – 9 p.m.

A Seattle band that blends traditional South American Cumbia with ska, rock, and pschedelic sounds that gets audiences on to the dance floor.

Publish The Quest, 10 – 11:30 p.m.

Publish The Quest combines Afro-beat elements and folk, rock and alternative music leanings into their performances.

Sunday, July 17:

The Reptile Man, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The Reptile Man, known for live animal demonstrations throughout the Pacific Northwest, will present reptiles from all over the world. After the show, adults and children will have the opportunity to handle or touch some of the animals.

Rumor Has It, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

A Vashon-based band, Rumour Has It plays bluegrass, country, rock and blues with their own spin.

Poultry In Motion, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

This six-piece Vashon band includes islanders Wilson Abbott, Steve Amsden, Chris Anderson, Gib Dammann, Bob Kueker and Dave Lang making a “musical gumbo.”

Other local musicians will perform at Strawberry Festival, though not affiliated with the mainstage acts. Catch performances at island venues during the festival, such as:

Sugar Shack

Enjoy two free concerts at Sugar Shack, the first kicking off at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 15, with The Special Riders, known as Seattle’s most joyful party band.

The following afternoon, from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 16, RiverBend will entertain will Bluegrass and Folk music.

Vashon United Methodist Church

Pastor and singer-songwriter Mark Wagner will perform at the Vashon United Methodist Church from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 15. Following Wagner’s performance is local singer-songwriter Alex Davis, who will perform from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, July 16, the Arioso String Quartet and local folk group, Triskelion, will also perform, with the special concert beginning at 3 and concluding at 4:45 p.m.

Snapdragon

Snapdragon Bakery and Cafe’s Strawberry Festival Stage will be open Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17 for this year’s festival.
