Little Mermaid swims to the stage at arts center

The performance is Friday, Aug. 12.

Take a dive with VCA’s Youth Musical Theatre summer camp program and go “under the sea” with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.

This show, directed by Marita and Elise Ericksen, stars 21 talented students ranging in age from seven to 14 who have rehearsed for two weeks in VCA’s summer musical theatre camp to bring this family friendly show to life. The show will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Vashon Center for the Arts (VCA).

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking.

Tickets can be purchased online at vashoncenterforthearts.org or in person at VCA’s Kay White Hall Box Office.
