Island chanteuse Maggie Laird will perform a free show of Kurt Weill songs at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Bad Monkey Bistro, 400 Boren Ave. N., in Seattle.
An artist gets a nod
Matthew Olds, an Island artist, was one of 84 artists to receive funding from King County’s 4Culture Individual Artist Projects 2010 program. Olds will spend his $3,000 grant on an exhibit inspired by the Beall Greenhouses, to be shown at Vermillion Gallery in Seattle.
