The First Friday Gallery Cruise takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. Other gallery openings are listed on page 19.
Blooms & Things will show paintings by Marilyn Blitz that pay homage to the barns of Vashon.
Books by the Way will show photographs by Jessica Uhler, with music by Gearly Mountain Boys.
Buddha Bar (Spice Route) will display Lynette Hensley’s paintings, digital art, collages and other art.
Duet will feature paintings by Michael Spakowsky, as well as Lenard Yen’s series, “Tree Lives,” and jewelry by Kathi Ray.
Giraffe will show South American jewelry and alpaca pieces.
Heron’s Nest will show Brian Fisher’s oils and prints, Lynanne Raven’s Christmas stockings and “Codex Benthos,” a book about Vashon’s lost mines, buried treasure and unsolved mysteries. Only 25 copies are available, and each is numbered and will contain a collectible relic and clue to an unsolved mystery. The book’s author, who goes by the pen name Cecil Benthos, will sign copies.
Kronos will show paintings by Aliona Aziornaya.
La Boucherie will feature “Balkan Echoes,” a show of photography by Martin Koenig, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Lost and Found will show artwork from New Orleans.
Quartermaster Pub & Restaurant will show work by Debra Paulsen.
Artwork by Gwynn Palmer and Kathi Ray will adorn the walls at Sound Food. Lance Morgan will perform holiday music.
The Tea Shop will show Lindsay Aickin’s prayer flags.
Treasure Island will show Jim Allyn’s paintings.
Vashon Bookshop will show Barbara Gustafson’s baskets; music by the Diggers will begin at 7 p.m.
The Vashon Senior Center will display paintings by students of Midge Grace.
Vashon Women’s Health Center will show maternity portraits by Rebecca Douglas.
Winterbrook Realty will exhibit photography by Hailey Brock.
