Café Luna will show a collection of old and new oil paintings by Kathy Larsdotter. The subjects for the show, “Landscapes from My Heart,” are drawn from Vashon and beyond.
Hastings-Cone Gallery will exhibit island artist John Overton’s artwork, which is also in the permanent collections of the Seattle Art Museum and the Brooklyn Museum.
Ray Pfortner will be the featured artist at Heron’s Nest, which will show photographs Pfortner took last fall when he and his wife Nancy Wing led a group of photographers and painters to China. Through the Artist Cultural Exchange, the group visited six UNESCO World Heritage sites. More of Pfortner’s photographs from the trip will be shown on June 27 at the Seattle Chinese Garden.
Hinge Gallery will exhibit Randy Heit’s new work inspired by Pacific Northwest nature and cultural heritage. Heit is a wood and metal artist.
PSCCU will show the paintings of Donna Romero and feature music by Kat Eggleston.
Raven’s Nest will exhibit work by renowned Canadian watercolorist Sue Coleman, who has earned international recognition for her paintings and interpretive Northwest Coast First Nations images. Coleman will be on hand Friday and Saturday to sign her artwork and her book, “An Artist’s Vision.” Visitors on Friday and Saturday morning can enter a drawing for Coleman’s artwork.
SPOKE will show artwork by Bernadette Lacarte. Christopher Overstreet and Otung Durahim will create a mixed media installation in the gallery over the next several months.
The Hardware Store Restaurant will show photographs by island photographer John Anderson.
Held over for another month is the “Three Teen Photography” show at Two Wall Gallery. There will be an encore opening on Friday.
Victoria Clayton, a visual artist, teacher, poet and grief and loss counselor, will be the featured artist at VALISE. Her work explores a variety of mediums and techniques.
Vashon Allied Arts Gallery, in tandem with VAA’s Garden Tour, will showcase garden-themed works from two accomplished artists — still life photography by Valerie Willson and sand-engraved glass by Silvija Paza.
Vashon Intuitive Arts will feature watercolors and acrylics by Jeffrey Jones.
