Luna screens a film classic
Café Luna will present a free screening of Francis Ford Coppola’s “Apocalypse Now Redux” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23.
Organizers called the film a synthesis of modern and classic writings, drawing from the war reportage of Michael Herr in his book “Dispatches,” the theme from Joseph Conrad’s novel “Heart of Darkness” and religious musings from the classic tome “The Golden Bough.”
The film contains the pounding drive of rock icons The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones and bravura performances by Marlon Brando and Martin Sheen.

Mike Fekete of Olympia will perform a free solo guitar concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Café Luna.
