An art tour with 38 stops continues

For years, Barnworks members have donated to the Vashon High School scholarship fund from the sales of their artwork. And for the last five years, the members have found a unique way to do so — they’ve joined together to make a collage, and then raffled it during their holiday show. This year’s collage is a view of the marina in Burton.

This year’s Vashon Island Art Studio Tour will continue this weekend, with 38 local art studios open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12 and 13.

Organizers tout the tour as the perfect way to find holiday gifts, including paintings and prints, ceramics, photography, furniture, clothing, toys, jewelry, glass and more.

Maps listing all the tour stops are available at vashonislandartstudiotour.com.

At one of the tour locations, Barnworks, located at 12122 S.W. Cove Road, there will be a raffle for a work created collaboratively by its members.

Islanders are also encouraged to stop by Vashon’s art galleries and shops this weekend to check out a wealth of locally made goods.
