Young artist holds a Festival art show
Island artist Claire Green will have a show at Vashon Presbyterian Church during Strawberry Festival. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Green, a Vashon High School graduate who attends Cornish College of the Arts, works in a variety of media, including printmaking, acrylic, oil, watercolor and ceramics, and has had her work displayed at several local and regional exhibits. She hopes to one day own her own art gallery.
One More Mile to play true blues at the Bike
One More Mile will have a free show at the Red Bicycle Bistro at 9 p.m. Friday, July 15. The show is for all ages until 11 p.m. and 21 and older after that.
One More Mile is a band that came together over a shared passion of playing real blues. The group includes experienced guitarists Jason Lollar and Tommy Bean, energetic harmonica player Lonesome Mike Nichols, David “The Kid” Salonen on bass and Sammy “Milhouse” Veatch on drums.
According to Pete Welch, who books music for the Bike, One More Mile is sure to get listeners up and shaking it or at least digging the groove from the comfort of their seats.
Rewind takes Vashon back to the 80s
The ‘80s cover band Rewind will play a free show at the Red Bicycle Bistro at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 16. The show is for all ages until 11 p.m. and 21 and older after that.
Rewind plays many live music hot spots and has headlined The Bite of Seattle. The six band members put on a true ‘80s concert, keeping the audience engaged and entertained with their energy and charisma.
