I would like to address two young women mentioned recently.
First is Zoey Rice. What a brave and strong young woman you are. Thank you for your letter about depression and suicidal feelings. (“Current efforts are encouraging,” May 13.)
And then about Sierra. I have been mourning her death since December. While I appreciate your editorial against driving after drinking, it saddened me to see your prominent article about her death. Really, many of us, including her mother and grandmother, have just begun to heal a teeny bit.
Why was this article necessary? All it seems to have done is to reopen wounds that are finally healing a tad.
