One month into my second term, I would like to thank Vashon voters for subjecting me to another six years of … that is, for doing me the honor of allowing me to again serve on the Water District 19 commission.

Since I was unopposed, being re-elected is perhaps not an accomplishment to get too fat-headed about. However, there are reports that a small bloc of voters supported “Goofy” as a write in candidate. I would like to take the time to congratulate Mr. Goofy for running an open, smear-free campaign, and invite him and his supporters to come and endure … that is, attend … any and all of our monthly meetings, at which their input will be welcomed. If they have any leverage with Mr. Uncle Scrooge and could persuade him to consider making a contribution to the District’s old water main replacement fund, all the better.
