As I toured the new, beautiful high school this past week, I was flooded with memories of my own time growing up on Vashon. I feel lucky to be a part of a community that supports the success of our students.

Although I did not have the privilege to attend a new school, I was one of the first groups to receive a scholarship from the Vashon Community Scholarship Foundation. The financial support was greatly appreciated, especially with the overwhelming cost of education.

I am now in the process of gathering information on college financial support for my own child. I am shocked with the rising costs of tuition. I feel that now it is even more important to financially support students who are trying to continue their education and training. Thank you to all who donate to the Vashon Community Scholarship Foundation! This amazing organization has supported our graduating students of Vashon High School for over 25 years.
