Oppose Initiative I-1366

I didn't think a letter would be called for, but now have heard that the "yea" and "nay" votes are about equal on I-1366. Don't we remember I-695 in 1999, the Eyeman initiative that decimated ferry service funding, public health, transit and other essential services?

I didn’t think a letter would be called for, but now have heard that the “yea” and “nay” votes are about equal on I-1366. Don’t we remember I-695 in 1999, the Eyeman initiative that decimated ferry service funding, public health, transit and other essential services? Now we have Eyeman’s I-1366, which has been labeled blackmail and extortion. It would make it impossible for our legislators to fund education, as they are court-ordered to do, or to close wasteful corporate tax loopholes. Money is pouring in from out-of-state interests who do not want to see the latter happen.

Please, if your ballot hasn’t been mailed yet, join the broad, non-partisan coalition opposing this initiative, including League of Women Voters, League of Education Voters, Washington Conservation Voters, state and county labor councils, major state newspapers.
