Letter to the Editor: New shop provides vocational training

Urban Cottage, Revive + and our associated nonprofit, Eco-institute, would like to thank The Beachcomber for the great article explaining our collaborative store for sustainable products. We created a collaboration of businesses that are inclusive of training and supporting young adults of many abilities to have a future in the green employment movement.

Our goal is to provide the public with a place to come relax and to share our values. We have created a space to purchase items for your home, heart and peace of mind. Our products and services are created by a team of people with many abilities. Our team also consists of a supportive staff from Eco-institute, our associated nonprofit, which is a green vocational training program for young adults. Our young adults are involved in every step of the business operation. We teach what is important in today’s workplace, how to give back to our community, global support and preparation for successful employment. Eco-institute also collaborates with Learn2Earn, a supported employment and family support agency for Vashon.

Eco-institute has now been provided the space to be successful in our community.

We wish not to be determined by our varying abilities but our success. We would love to explain this more to you, so stop by.
