Article did not represent buyers well

I’m writing in regard to the article about the portended sale of the Robinson building that now houses the quilt shop (“Quilt Shop to move off-island as building sells,” Feb. 18.) I am disturbed at how the article was written.

I’m writing in regard to the article about the portended sale of the Robinson building that now houses the quilt shop (“Quilt Shop to move off-island as building sells,” Feb. 18.) I am disturbed at how the article was written. It was ill-researched and made villains of the people who intended to buy the property.

The buyers are good people. They care about this community and show it regularly by giving generously of themselves and their time. I would say that they do more for this island than those unintended benefits that come from for-profit businesses.

Maybe next time, the writer should examine the facts more closely before hurrying to make a deadline. And maybe next time, the readers should ask themselves if they are not being manipulated so as to trade in small-town theatrics.
