A stoplight would help at the dock

All the talk this summer about ferry delays, two-boat solutions, state legislature gridlock and the need to hire back the state patrol cadets seems to overlook the obvious: Why not do what Anacortes did years ago and install a traffic light where the dock meets Fauntleroy Way?

I’m honestly surprised that no one has mentioned this in the recent debate. The expense of installation and maintenance would be far more cost-effective in the long run than the yearly need to seek funding for the cadets from a cash-strapped state legislature and would help alleviate the traffic jams caused when a ferry unloads.
