The Senior Center discovered that someone had hooked up a water hose to its outside hose bibb and drained over 1,500 cubic feet of water over the last two months, resulting in a water bill twice as high as normal.

To prevent further occurrences we have had to place our hoses in a locked shed and have purchased a hose bibb locking mechanism. While these expenses aren’t overly high, they are unexpected, and we may have to make a reduction in service somewhere else. 

The “free water” someone took is not free.
