Arts center is too big for Vashon | Letter to the Editor

I was glad to read Deena Eber’s comments (“We don’t need ‘regional hub’ for the arts,” June 20) on Vashon Allied Arts’ proposed theater and gallery. I believe this project is too ambitious for our small Island population and hope the Blue Heron will remain the more intimate community arts center it is now, rather than try to have regional appeal. And yes, we are close to two cities that offer fine art and entertainment.

My suggestion would be use the present building as exhibition space and build a smaller theater.
