The new school gives a sense of pride

OMG, as the kids would text. Yesterday my John L. Scott office was treated to a guided tour of the new high school building with Eric Gill, architect and capital projects manager for the school district.

OMG, as the kids would text. Yesterday my John L. Scott office was treated to a guided tour of the new high school building with Eric Gill, architect and capital projects manager for the school district. It was an experience that left us all wanting to go back to school. What a gorgeous building, so light-filled and welcoming. Polished concrete floors, beautiful wood finishes throughout, state-of-the-art technology equipment, many garage-like doors that lift to let the outside in, a theater with a real functional stage and actual dressing rooms behind (imagine that!).

I could go on and on. But what I left with was enormous pride, pride in how our community stepped up and built a stunning building that so beautifully demonstrates what we think of our kids and the value we put on their education. The public open house is on Jan. 5. Don’t miss the chance to experience this newest addition to our remarkable island life for yourself.
