Vashon Island School District’s Maintenance and Operations Levy passed this week, with more than 70 percent of those who cast ballots approving the measure.

King County Election results updated Wednesday showed that the levy passed with 72 percent.

The levy is forecast to bring in in between $3.8 million and $4.3 million a year over the next four years, funds that will cover about 23 percent of the district’s operating costs.

Superintendent Michael Soltman said on Wednesday that he was pleased that voters again renewed the levy.

“This gives us a god solid foundation for the next four years while the state works though the financial support issues,” he said.
