Renowned jazz trumpeter plays at Blue Heron

Seattle native and nationally renowned jazz trumpeter Thomas Marriott will bring his innovative jazz music to the Blue Heron at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Seattle native and nationally renowned jazz trumpeter Thomas Marriott will bring his innovative jazz music to the Blue Heron at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Marriott has played with musical luminaries like Rosemary Clooney, Michael Feinstein, Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra and Maynard Ferguson’s Big Bop Nouveau Band, with whom he played three world tours. Several of his eight albums have been featured on NPR’s Morning Edition and have gained critical acclaim worldwide.

Marriott will be joined by Orrin Evans (piano), John Bishop (drums) and Jeff Johnson (bass) and will play a collection of American popular song standards, jazz classics and originals.
