The filing period opens June 6 for several seats on Vashon’s elected commissions and boards.

Terms that end this year include two on Vashon Island Fire & Rescue’s board — the ones held by Gayle Summers, who just stepped down, and Ron Turner. Also up are two positions on the Vashon Island School Board — ones held by Laura Wishik, who plans to run again, and Dan Chasan, who has not yet decided. 

Also open is a position currently held by Richard Bard on Water District 19’s board.
