Relive a concert from America’s quintessential rock band
The American Night, a Doors tribute act from Seattle, will perform a live recreation of a Doors concert at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at The Red Bicycle.
The American Night is a highly acclaimed tribute act that tours throughout the Pacific Northwest. Authentic instruments, costumes and psychedelic lighting are used to recreate a concert of the American rock band of the late 60s.
This stop at The Red Bicycle will be the second time the band has traveled to Vashon. The band’s frontman, Nate Christian, says they are excited to return. “We hear there are a lot of true blue Doors fans on Vashon, and we can’t wait to perform for them again,” he said.
This show has a $5 cover and is open to all ages until 11 p.m., when it will be 21 and over. For more information on the band, visit www.theamericannight.com.
Veteran rockers play The Bike
The local band Track 19 will play a free show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept, 4 at Café Luna.
The three veteran musicians (Bob “Rock” Kueker on bass, Phil “Eddy J” Johnson on drums and Rick “3D” Doussett on guitar) perform a unique blend of Texas blues, gypsy jazz, funky R&B and British Invasion. They will play mostly original songs, with flavorful covers of The Kinks, Jeff Beck, Pearl Django and Everclear sprinkled in.
Members of the band have performed with the likes of Chuck Berry, Little Feat and REO Speedwagon.

Last world music concert will feature Bosnian Blues
Bosnian Blues will perform at Vashon High School at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11.
The four Sarajevo natives who make up the band fled the war-torn Bosnia and Herzegovina in the mid-1990s and later reunited in Seattle. The quartet now plays the country’s traditional music: sevdah, or Bosnian blues, mixing complex rhythms, rich melodies and poetic text to create emotive and danceable music.
The performance is the last of six free world music concerts that have taken place this summer, sponsored by the Vashon Folkdancers and Vashon Park District. Everyone is invited — dancers and listeners alike. No experience is necessary to participate in the dancing, and instruction will be provided.
