A music-packed weekend at Red Bicycle Bistro & Sushi will kick off at 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, with 2ME, a band comprised of Sacramento guitarist Christopher Twomey and percussionist Reid Foster. The pair bills themselves as “duo by default,” and invites strangers to sit in with them on stages across America.

Organizer Pete Welch said he also is excited by the show he has planned for Saturday night.

SisterMonk, a band that shuttles between Seattle and New York City, will take the Bike’s stage at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20.

The band’s Web site bills SisterMonk’s music as rock-fusion, ranging from “tangy funk to deep-bottomed Latin grooves.” The band, formed in 1999, is comprised of Kathleen Deane, who sings and plays djembe, Jody Rubel on rhythm guitar and Scott Den Adel on lead guitar.

The Friday and Saturday night shows are for ages 21 and older, but Sunday’s show will be an all-ages affair, featuring a longtime Island band, The Spotlights, playing a show of classic rock with a holiday twist.

The Spotlights will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21.
