Give up meat to help the environment

So much bad news. How hard it must be for the youth of the world to see all the environmental challenges that confront us at this time. But be encouraged. It’s truly good news to know that we can eat our way out of this. Yes. Every time you to choose to eat from plants and trees rather than from the bodies of animals you choose life in more ways than one.

You can experience your power to be part of the solution so that the stats (70 percent of global freshwater used for animal agriculture; 51 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions is produced by livestock, according to the Worldwatch Institute; 33 percent of global arable land is devoted to livestock feed; 45 percent of global land is occupied by the livestock system) don’t cause so much anxiety. You know you are doing your part.

Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation and habitat loss, pushing countless endangered species to the brink of extinction. Knowing this, whenever you can, remember and eat low on the food chain. At the end of October, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced eating processed meats causes cancer and that red meats including beef, pork, veal and lamb are “probably carcinogenic” to people. So choose phytonutrients for planetary and personal health.
