Thirty-six years ago, I traveled to Europe after graduating from Washington University Fine Art school with a degree in painting. It was a great adventure and rite of passage where I experienced in person much of the art history I had been studying while in college.
Thirty-six years later, on June 1, 2022, I returned with the intention of painting during my travels. This show is the result.
The countries I traveled to were Spain, Portugal and the Nederlands during a span of two months. Honestly, I could have gone three more months without hesitation.
This trip renewed my sense of wonder and appreciation for people and the world at large. Art and travel make excellent companions in that creating is a way of becoming part of a place; it cements an intimate bond.
The show is chronological. Each piece has a story attached, literally, that I harvested from the blog I maintained while on the journey.
Please enjoy.
My next Art Journey is this summer of 2023 to Mexico City, for its incredible museums and murals by Diego Rivera, and then on to Colombia, the most ecologically diverse country in the world, that has recently emerged from a long history of civil strife into a new era of relative stability.
Any purchase you make supports my commitment to being a traveling artist; a creator and harvester of wonder.
Thanks for feeding that dream. And please come on my next journey with me: www.steffonmoody.com/blog2
