Lacrosse club registration/b>
The Vashon Lacrosse Club invites players and parents to the 2008 lacrosse season kick-off and registration night at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16th, in the Vashon High School theater.
This event is for all current and new players and their parents in grades 5 to 12.
Returning players will receive their registration forms in the mail before Jan. 16.

This will be a fun evening for all Vashon Lacrosse Club teams and anyone interested in learning more about lacrosse.
Enter the raffle to win cool lacrosse gear and meet the coaches, said organizer Davidheiser.
Lacrosse alums win; season’s up
The Vashon Lacrosse Club’s alumni vs. high school game took place on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007.
The alumni, came ready to win and beat the high school.
The 2008 high school lacrosse season begins in February and hosts Issaquah for its first home game on Tuesday, March 11.

Judo family wins five belts
Several of the Thalhofer family were honored recently in a belt promotion ceremony on Dec. 17 at the US Judo Training Center.
Josiah, Nathanael, and Adam all received their black belts. Peter, their dad, received his brown belt; and Hosanna earned her first belt promotion, the yellow belt.
Belt rankings progress from white to yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, brown and finally black.
Their coach of eight years, John Holm, says, “It’s almost certainly the first time in Washington state, perhaps the country, that three young men from one family have been promoted to black belt in judo on the same day, and certainly if you add a dad to brown and a sister to yellow.”
Open gym for baseball players
Vashon High School gym continues to be open on Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 20, 27 and Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24. Vashon Youth Baseball and Softball provides practice equipment. High school or Pony-aged players can work on skills during the off-season, according to organizer Rita Allmann.
No registration is required.
