John Michael Brown and Brigitte Barbara Schran, parents of Katjarina and Emily Horwitz and Craig and Larissa Brown, were married at a quiet family ceremony at the home of the groom’s parents on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007.

A reaffirmation of vows was celebrated with almost 300 friends and family members at their Vashon home above Lisabeula on July 26, 2008.

The event was a true Vashon celebration with wonderful food, spectacular alpine flowers, a mountains-and-rivers wedding cake, photography and Irish Ceili dancing — provided by, respectively, Abundant Blessings catering, Barb Jurus of Delish, Blooms and Things, Michael Sage Photography and Ceili band SouthWind, Brigitte reported.

The couple will continue to celebrate life on Vashon, she added.
