Health Care District holds budget meeting

Preschool hosts talk about race and racism
Vashon-Maury Cooperative Preschool invites the community to join a talk, “Conversations with Children Part I: Let’s Talk About Race and Racism,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, via Zoom at bellevuecollege.zoom.us/j/83140375022.
This conversation will center on race and how to talk with children and answer their questions about racial differences and racism, with the aim of giving families and educators tools to raise a generation of critical thinkers who strive for social justice and equity. The conversation will be led by Jamie Cho, Ph.D., a faculty member at Bellevue College.
Trivia night at Vashon Brewing Community Pub
Head over to the Vashon Brewing Community Pub at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 for Trivia Night. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and $5 cover is required to participate. $10 gift certificates are awarded to winning team members.
Caregiver support group
Get the chance to connect with fellow caregivers, share ideas, strategies and support one another. The group meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Vashon Community Care private dining room.
‘Electric Vehicles: Beyond the Carbon Question’
Alliance for Tompotika Conservation and the Whole Vashon Project will present “Electric Vehicles: Beyond the Carbon Question,” from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Open Space for Arts & Community. Speakers will include research scientist Cliff Rice, Ph.D. Journalist and author of the Green Rocks newsletter Ian Morse and Executive Director of Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) Aimee Boulanger.
