Letter to the Editor: Paying taxes is not a reason to break the rules at new natural area

Regarding the article about dirt bike riders in last week’s Beachcomber (“County, Maury residents concerned about dirt bikes at new natural area”), the argument that because someone pays King County property taxes they’re then entitled to ride dirt bikes in the new King County Maury Island mine park is irrelevant.

Regarding the article about dirt bike riders in last week’s Beachcomber (“County, Maury residents concerned about dirt bikes at new natural area”), the argument that because someone pays King County property taxes they’re then entitled to ride dirt bikes in the new King County Maury Island mine park is irrelevant.

For instance, even though my husband and I have no children, we pay taxes that fund the school system, but that doesn’t entitle me to ride my horse on the football field or to swim my dogs in the pool at the school.
