Vashon senior Josh Hruska Myer was named the Nisqually League MVP for baseball for the 2015 season.

The Pirate has been a varsity starter for four years and racked up amazing statistics in pitching, fielding and hitting throughout his career.

The Vashon coaching staff appreciates Myer for his hard work, dedication and leadership, said head coach Steve Hall.

“His brilliant job on the mound along with his bat and play at first and third have earned him several awards over his years as a Pirate. He has had a truly remarkable high school career, and we’ll really miss him,” Hall said.

Seven other Pirates received honors from the coaches of all the Nisqually league teams: Logan Hawkins, first team pitcher; Sam Schoenberg, first team outfield; Harper Whitney, first team designated hitter; Chester Pruett, second team catcher; Clyde Pruett, second team infield; Ashton Dulfer, second team pitcher and Simon Perrin, honorable mention outfield.
