Vashon Center for the Arts is offering a new treat for home viewers — a “late-night” (okay, on Vashon that means 9 p.m.) variety show, featuring local talent and special guests.
The third episode of the show, “It’s Late on Vashon,” will be streamed from VCA’s Katherine L. White Hall at 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, at vashoncenterforthearts.org and VCA’s Facebook page, and also archived on the website for anyone who went to bed early that night.
This time around, the show will have a spoken word theme. Host Darragh Kennan will interview social justice educator, teaching artist, poet and storyteller, Merna Hecht, and Vashon student and spoken word artist, Malea Dickerson, will perform. May Chaleoy, the owner of Vashon’s acclaimed Thai restaurant, May Kitchen + Bar, will demo her delicious phad thai recipe, and we’ll get a traffic report from Glenn Easley. The night will also include trivia and a few more special surprises.
