Let your flag fly
The deadline for submissions to the Vashon Flag Design Competition is March 15.
Prior to entry, artists are required to consult the design guideline for flags at www.nava.org and read the site’s downloadable publication “Good Flag, Bad Flag.”
Entries can be dropped off at the Heron’s Nest, c/o George Wright, or mailed to Greg Wessel, 11055 Palisades Ave. S.W., Vashon 98070. Late entries will not be considered. For more information, call 250-2222.
Lunavision shows a doc
A screening of Franny Armstory’s 2009 documentary film, “The Age of Stupid,” will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Café Luna.
Armstrong’s film explores issues of global climate change and impending environmental disaster. The screening, presented by Lunavision, is free. For more information, contact Peter Ray at pgr42@att.net.
An Islander’s play debuts at Teatro ZinZanni
Islander Steffon Moody has written “Zirkus Fantazmo,” a new show presented by ZinZanni Institute for Circus Arts.
The show, according to a press release, is aimed at children “ages 5 to 105” and tells the high-energy tale about the power of dreams and one circus family’s quest to create the perfect act. The show will be performed on select Saturday and Sunday afternoons from March 5 through May 1, at Teatro ZanZinni in Seattle.
