We know Kris and John Cushing and their boys. The boys are intelligent, well-mannered and seem to be dealing well with this brouhaha. We think the fact that they don’t show signs of trauma is attributable to John and Kris’s strong and calm parenting skills.

We have known the Cushings since they moved to Vashon and started attending St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Kris is a kind, gentle, soft-spoken person who is an active parishioner. We are proud to know this family.

On the other hand, we used to be a fan of Channel 5 and KING TV but now are very disappointed in their coverage of this situation. So far we have not heard them delve into Conlon’s motivation in bringing this suit. Money? Bitterness? Vengeance? Has she ever left the son who resides with her alone? Is he a latch-key kid? How are his grades? Has anyone asked her these questions?

We believe there are two sides to every question, but so far all the onus has been on Kris and none on Conlon. To our minds, this is not justice.
