Six funny women will take the stage for a night of stand-up comedy at 8 p.m. Friday at Red Bicycle Bistro.

The night, dubbed “That’s What She Said,” is the latest installment of an ongoing comedy series at the Bike, produced by Steffon Moody, Jim Farrell and Harris Levinson. But this time, there’s a twist: The evening is a fundraiser for Vashon’s DoVE Project, an agency that assists survivors of domestic violence.

Janet McAlpin, an aerial and physical theater performer who co-founded both UMO Ensemble and the Open Space for Arts & Community, will emcee.

Two Seattle comics, Leah Mansfield and Shannon Whaley, will headline the event. Mansfield is an up-and-coming performer who has traveled the country performing stand-up. Whaley, who also gigs widely, has a background working as a domestic drug and alcohol counselor and a special passion for using comedy as a fundraising tool for needy organizations.

The night will also feature a bevy of Island performers, some of them trying stand-up for the first time.

The local gang will include barista Anna Sweezey; Maria Glanz, an UMO-affiliated performer who recently starred in “See Me Naked” (she’ll be clothed for the performance on Friday); Mindy WoManley Little, a playwright who wrote “Spellbound: A Musical Play on Words,” and Susan Harris, creator of the show “Bozophobia.”

Tickets to the show are $10.
