I read with interest Charles Lovekin’s “opinion” about a woman’s right to an abortion. Mr. Lovekin certainly has a right to his opinion, but let us not cloak it as truth or fact. Mr. Lovekin is assuming that a fetus is a human being at conception. That fact has not been legally or ethically ascertained by any authority that I am aware of.
Second, I see no mention in Mr. Lovekin’s argument of how a woman would deal with extreme circumstances surrounding some reasons to pursue abortion, such as rape or medical necessity, not to mention a woman’s right to determine the size of her family.
Sorry Mr. Lovekin, no disrespect intended, but from my point of view, I just see another man trying to tell women what to do with their bodies. If a woman does not want an abortion, she has the right not to have one. But let’s allow women to determine that for themselves.
