William Kenneth Lynn
William Kenneth Lynn of Buffalo, New York, formerly of Vashon, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the age of 92.
Bill was born to Helen and Emmanuel Lynn on July 18, 1924, in Defiance, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII. He took part in the liberation of France in 1944 and was wounded in Normandy. After the war, he went to work in the aerospace industry for the Hughes Aircraft company, where he retired from a division of that company, the Santa Barbara Research Center.
He moved his family to the island, purchasing and renovating an old, condemned schoolhouse while working at K-2 in maintenance and engineering, where he used his mechanical ability.
Bill loved working on his house and cars, especially his Corvairs.
Bill was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lynn, and his wife, Vivian Lynn. He is survived by daughters, Sheila Lynn, of Santa Maria, California, and Jodi Loa, of Temple, Texas. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Shaun Lynn, of Vashon, Jordan Loa of Dallas, Texas, and Megan McNamee of Temple, Texas, as well as three great-grandchildren.
