Kirk Richell Bourgault died of cancer April 26, 2006, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. He was 53 years old.

He was born Sept. 23, 1952, in Seattle. He attended Roosevelt High School and continued post-secondary education courses throughout his life.

Mr. Bourgault divided his time between Vashon Island, where he worked at Island Trees, and Schawana, where he had a home and embarked on his passion for winemaking.

He was a volunteer firefighter with the Royal City District 10 fire department a number of years.

Survivors include his son Orion, his brother Craig Bourgault and his mother and father.

A remembrance gathering is set for 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at the the Fraternal Order of Eagles. The event is a potluck.
