Naomi Browne died suddenly at home on
Wednesday, January 30th. She was born
Naomi Carolynn Jauron in Butte, Montana
on April 20, 1941 to Viola and Clovis Jauron.
She graduated from Butte Catholic High
School in 1959 and married Bud Tobias in
1960. The couple moved to Seattle and had three boys, Tim, Mark and Dan.
She met John H. Browne Sr. in 1967 and the family moved to Vashon in 1971.
After 15 years with John, she fi nally decided she could trust him enough
to marry and they wed October 18, 1982. She worked as a bookkeeper/
accounting tech and all around go-to person at Meltec/Young Corporation in
Seattle for 30 years.
Naomi never met a stranger and was an amazing and sympathetic listener.
Her kindness and generosity of spirit is legendary. She loved slot machines,
entertaining friends, cooking, and making doubly sure everyone had enough
to eat. She adored her sons and their wives but was especially delighted at her
grandchildren. She was a wonderful and loving mother, aunt, grandmother,
stepmother, step-grandmother, and step-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, John, her sons Tim (Julia) Tobias, Mark
(Jodie) Browne and Dan (Dinece) Browne, step-children John H. Browne
Jr. (Vicki), Colleen (Dan McKillop) Browne, Shelley (Herb) Johnson, and
Shannon (Jeff) Bertuch. She will be always in the hearts of her beloved
grandchildren Gabriel, Christopher, David and Diana Tobias, Kendall,
MacKenzie, Emily and Madison Browne, and numerous step-grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her older brother, Dave
Jauron, his wife Helen and many nieces and nephews. There are many other
extended family members with whom she kept in close touch. She will be
very much missed by all.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9th, at 11:30 at the VFW
Hall on Vashon. Please come and share your memories with others as we
