Kenneth Eugene Svinth, 59, lately of Forks, Washington, passed away on April 14, 2013 from a heart attack at his home while working on his beloved boat.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30pm May 4, 2013 at the fellowship hall of Bethany Lutheran Church, 26418 Mountain Hwy E., Spanaway, WA.
Ken was born in Tacoma, WA on March 9, 1954 at Madigan Army Hospital. In 1972 he graduated from Mt. Rainier High School in Des Moines, WA and continued on to receive a AA in Marine Technology from Highline Community College. He followed his life’s passion and became a “hard hat” commercial diver.
Ken worked as an diver for several oil companies around the world and then an aerospace welder for Boeing and later Exotic Metals until he retired.
When Ken took a vacation to Barranquilla, Columbia he met his wife Edith. He lived on Vashon for many years until he sold his home to the Cascade Land Conservancy in 2008 and moved to Covington and then to Forks, WA.
Ken is survived by his wife Edith, parents Peter and Mary Ann, sister Kathy, nieces Trina Wisdom (Brandon), Jaedelyn and Anika as well as many family
and friends.
Ken always had an animated story to tell or an invitation to go fishing to extend. An avid reader, hard worker, animal lover, practical joker, he loved his life, family, fishing, attending concerts, and the Seahawks.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Nisqually Indian Tribe Elders Program, or the Vashon Island Pet Protectors.
