Bethel E. Watney

Mom, the second of three daughters of Ed and Rose Eidson, was born in Cedarville, Missouri on January 6th 1905 and died at the Knipp-Hopper Home in Vashon on December 1st 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Reginald Watney, and by her sisters Thelma and Iris.

Mom is survived by her sons Jack (Nancy), of Burton, and Dale (Kathleen) of Brentwood, TN. She is also survived by grandchildren Elizabeth (Tae-Yon), Adam (Julia), James (Carolyn) and Rachel (Logan) and by great-grandsons Joshua and Ryan.

Beth was raised in Felida/Vancouver, WA and graduated from the University of Oregon. She taught English, Latin, French and Spanish for several years in Oregon and Idaho before marrying and starting her family. While teaching in Marshfield, OR (present day Coos Bay) she met her future husband Reg. They settled in Seattle where Dad worked as an engineer for The Boeing Company and it is in the Seattle area that she remained for the rest of her life. She was a member and active at St. Elizabeth Episcopal Parish, in Burien, for many years.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Virginia Hopper, her family and staff for their loving and compassionate care of Mom for the past thirteen years.
