Jean Whitworth Peck, born Nov. 27, 1918, died on Nov. 4, 2013.
Jean was one of two remaining descendants of George Frederick Whitworth, the first governor of Washington state and the founder of Whitworth College (now Whitworth University) in Spokane.
Jean was born in Seattle and raised in the Mount Baker/Seward Park area. In 1964 she moved to Vashon Island with her husband, Kenneth Peck, now deceased, and youngest son Thomson, also deceased. She eventually started The Little House boutique. After approximately seven years, Jean sold The Little House to Bettie Edwards, who has continued to own and operate it for more than 30 years.
Jean is survived by her sister, Teddy Whitworth Bunnell; sons Steve and Jeff; daughters-in-law Anne and Solveig; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family requests that donations be made in Jean’s name to Vashon Community Care.
