Hans Thompson, Sr. passed away June 24, 2011, four days before his 87th birthday. He and his wife Adele retired and moved to the Island in 1980. He built a house above Lisabuela and started an apple orchard. Recently he realized a dream and put solar panels on his home. He is survived by his wife and eight children. Two of his daughters, Susan and Kristin and one granddaughter, Adela, live on Vashon.
