John Russell Cook

John Russell Cook, age 67, died at his mother’s home on Vashon on October 15, 2010. John grew up on Vashon, and he had lived for the past 10 years in New Mexico. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington and later in life earned a Master of Arts in Psychology from Antioch University in Seattle. He was a brilliant engineer, a gifted athlete until afflicted with MS, and a loving husband, son and father. He loved the outdoors and, since his retirement in January, enjoyed planning his blacksmith shop. He is survived by his wife Judith Isaacs, of Jemez Pueblo, NM; his mother, Frances Cook Eikenberry, of Vashon; his daughters Jan Cook, of Seattle; Elizabeth Cook, of Seattle; Michelle Cook, of Playa del Carmen, MX; his stepdaughter, Elizabeth Doud, of Miami Beach, FL; his stepson, Gregory Doud, of Blaine, WA; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service and potluck will be

held at the Grange Hall at 2 pm Saturday,

Oct. 23 with a potluck following. Donations in his memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
