Most galleries and art spots are open from 6 to 9 p.m.
Photographer Marla Smith’s show “Island Musings” at Café Luna will express her 36 years of being a resident “on this beautiful island we call home.” She will also be taking Halloween portraits at the café.
Hinge Gallery will feature the work of Seattle-based, island-connected artist Mark Bentley. Bentley’s work reflects his observation of nature, with each piece he makes crafted into a “nest-like structure.” Refreshments will be served, with live music on the porch.
Islander Gretchen Hancock will be the featured artist at PSCCU. An assortment of her current oil paintings, including still life, landscape and seascape, will be on display, with music by Christine Goering.
Raven’s Nest will celebrate the return of the salmon with Native artwork and gifts featuring the honored and celebrated fish. A cooking demo featuring Sue Shotridge’s smoked salmon spread will be shown.
VALISE Gallery collective members Greg Burnham, Brett Carlson, Lin Holley, Pascale Judet, Rachel LordKenga, Jiji Saunders, Sharon Shaver, Hita Von Mende and Ina Whitlock have put together “Gun Show,” an exhibit they hope will initiate dialogue regarding gun law reform in Washington state.
From functional ceramics to large sculptures to stitched textile paintings, the work of three artists — Deborah Schwarzkopf, George Rodriguez and Barbara Lee Smith — will be on display at VCA’s Koch Gallery.
Marcia Mckinzie’s watercolor batik paintings on rice paper will be shown at Vashon Senior Center. The artist will be at the opening beginning at 6:30 p.m.
