Thanks to those who voted ‘no’

I would like to thank the people that said "no" to the school bond.

I would like to thank the people that said “no” to the school bond.

This is my 50th year as a Vashon resident; my how things have changed. When my mother moved the family here in 1966 Vashon was affordable. The schools were simple and effective. Unlike today, the schools weren’t a driving force of growth.

I don’t buy the school’s slogan: “building a healthy community”. Vashon always was a healthy community. The schools we have today are growing a crowd.

I would have liked to vote against the new library, the new art center and especially the foot passenger ferry. Fancy and opulent improvements attract growth.

Enough is enough. Keep up the ‘No’ vote and remember, if the bond issue had passed, the ‘No’ voters do not get a second chance. Just like before, when the vote is ‘No’ the school district comes back with the next swindle.

Again, thank you.
