As a Vashon resident with a child in the district school system, I would like to express my shock and outrage with the amounts that have been requested in the recent lawsuit that has been filed against the Vashon school district. These sums would be totally inappropriate even if the allegations were true (and that is a big if).

The plaintiffs should reflect carefully on the serious damage they threaten to inflict on our excellent public schools and give more consideration to the broader community interest.
